Karnataka stands at no. 15 out of the top 40 global startup ecosystems
Karnataka is strengthening startup ecosystems beyond Bengaluru through strategic investments in regional innovation infrastructure and entrepreneurship support.
With an investment of Rs 9.51 crore, the K-Combinator Accelerator in Mangaluru will provide early-stage startups with access to mentorship, industry networks, market opportunities, and growth support, further advancing innovation-led development across the State.
According to the Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) 2026, one of the world’s most authoritative benchmarks for startup ecosystems, based on data from 5.5 M+ companies across 350+ innovation ecosystems, Karnataka stands at no. 15 out of the top 40 global startup ecosystems.
Karnataka continues to invest in the infrastructure that enables scientific discovery, innovation, and translational research.
With an investment of Rs 6.8 crore at the Centre for Human Genetics, Bengaluru, the Government of Karnataka is strengthening capabilities in advanced biotechnology research, supporting emerging areas such as genomics, gene therapy, and life sciences innovation.
These investments are critical to fostering world-class research ecosystems and reinforcing Karnataka’s position as India’s biotechnology capital.
