Indonesia's healthcare startup Halodoc completes series D funding

The new investment and collaboration will be instrumental in accelerating the company's mission to help more people get accessible, reliable and quality healthcare

Halodoc, a leading digital healthcare ecosystem platform in Indonesia, has successfully completed a series D funding round. The Indonesia-based startup's mission in simplifying healthcare access has resonated with respected partners who have the same values, to democratise healthcare access for the nation.

This funding round is led by PT Astra International Tbk (Astra) through its subsidiary, PT Astra Digital Internasional , while its past investors include Openspace and Novo Holdings. The new investment and collaboration will be instrumental in accelerating the company's mission to help more people get accessible, reliable and quality healthcare. 

Reflecting on the past years, the firm witnessed the impact of telemedicine in addressing patients' pain points, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, where more than 40% of patients utilised telemedicine, with 96% of them redeemed e-prescriptions digitally according to the Ministry of Health's data (ISOMAN Programme). 

In addition to enhance digital health literacy among the Indonesians through health communication, education and information, Halodoc also continues to develop and expand with a variety of services, making it easier for people to access healthcare services.

Halodoc is also working closely with the government, to accelerate technological advancement in the healthcare industry, including through the initiation of telehealth regulation as outlined in the Ministry of Health (MoH) of the Republic of Indonesia.
